Player’s Bank, Itaú’s digital account for gamers, and Mastercard have teamed up to launch the League of Legends Esports (LOLE by Riot Games) gaming card with exclusive benefits. Among the differentials, buyers can choose the image of one of the 5 champions of the game Kaisa, Jace, Pike, Talia and Orn to customize the plastic; be able to earn Riot RP; and they will have the opportunity to watch the LOL World Championship Finals taking place in San Francisco, California in October.

With no annual fee and 5% cashback in the Riot store, the new product is now available to all customers who can order through the Player’s Bank app. When applying for a job, there is an opportunity to choose a character who will illustrate the plastic, and when making the first transaction, the consumer receives a Riot RP set for free. In the gamification model, depending on the usage, more virtual currencies can be obtained.

Considering the large audience of League of Legends Esports, Itaú developed the new card as part of yet another player bank initiative, as explained by Ricardo Scussel, Head of Product at Itaú Unibanco. “For many years, LOL has been one of the top games in the world with passionate gamers, and we want them to experience our product as a payment solution that was truly meant for them, that goes beyond a simple card,” comments the official. “Mastercard is a longtime partner of the bank and together we want to provide the best experience in the market,” adds Skassel.

“For us at Mastercard, people’s participation in esports goes beyond a game, performance or technology, because it represents a connection to the creation of great passions. Therefore, we are very pleased with the partnership that we have signed with Itaú and Mastercard, which confirms our high appreciation of esports. Participating in this initiative with Itau allows us to innovate and encourage consumers to have an invaluable experience in the world of games,” emphasizes Sarah Buchwitz, Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Mastercard Brasil.

Part of creating unique moments for clients is being able to take three of them with companions to watch the League of Legends World Championship Finals in San Francisco, California this October. The promotion will take place in the second semester and will be tied to the number of card transactions that will generate lucky numbers.
