Sony Santa Monica’s God of War will leave GeForce Now on July 1, Nvidia announced in a new GeForce blog post. However, not all bad news. Anyone who logs into the game once before July 1, even just to claim and play it, will keep it permanently in their GeForce Now library, even after the game leaves the service.
As with all GeForce games these days, you’ll first need to purchase the adventure game on PC (via Steam) before you can add it to your library. So far, God of War is the only one of the current PlayStation ports for PC that is playable on the service. Days Gone and Horizon: Zero Dawn continue to be in high demand among GeForce Now users, though there are no signs of them appearing on the cloud platform in the near future.
However, that may change as PlayStation expands its plans for PC. In May, Sony posted a job description and is looking for a candidate to help shape its PlayStation PC strategy, and an investor report mentions that Sony believes its PC gaming sales will reach $300 million in 2022 alone. . .
It’s part of Sony’s larger push to release a few more first-party games for PC between 2022 and 2025, including Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales later in 2022.
Meanwhile, Nvidia will add 25 new games to the cloud platform in June, including Starship Troopers and indie bird word simulator KeyWe.
If you like medieval warfare for your summer vacation, there’s Chivalry 2 and its armed birds, and idle life sim Immortal Life is also coming to GeForce Now after it launches on Steam in April. For anime fans, there’s also The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, because no summer is complete without a Civil War ending.
