The first season of the Halo series ended last Thursday (19), and besides not being a hit with fans of the games, it also wasn’t well received by one of the co-creators of the franchise, Marcus Lehto. Responding to some comments on Twitter, Lehto stated the following: “I’m not sure where the inspiration for the series comes from, but I didn’t create Halo.”
Yeah, I’m not sure where the inspiration for the show comes from. Not the Halo I made.

Subsequently, the game director said that he did not hate the series, but did not understand why the producer had strayed so far from the history of games. “Some parts are interesting. I’m just embarrassed by the many choices I’ve made that seem very far from the essence of the fiction I helped create,” Lehto said.
I didn’t say I hated this show. Some parts are interesting. Just confused by the many choices made that seem pretty far removed from the mainstream fiction I helped create.

The Halo series featured in its 9 episodes some of the moments that made fans uncomfortable with the series, including showing the face of the protagonist Master Chief and his sexual relationship with another character.
Prior to release, the producers of Halo made it clear that the series would be set in an alternate timeline dubbed the “Silver Timeline”. The writers also noted that they were not directly inspired by the games in the franchise, as the series was intended to focus more on the characters than the wars.
Halo is available on the Paramount streaming service, and a second season has already been confirmed.
