Spokko, the studio is behind The Witcher: Monster Slayeris releasing a new update to its location-based augmented reality RPG that improves the overall gameplay and player experience.
The most important change is the new progression system called Path. From now on, upon reaching the next level of experience, players will unlock new skills, alchemy recipes, and additional rewards, such as chests with additional items and in-game currency. In addition, even the most adept wizards will not be disappointed by the level of challenges awaiting them, as the strength of opponents will increase in proportion to the player’s wizard rank.
The alchemy system has also been changed: now potions and oils do not have an expiration date after the battle. They now last for a certain amount of time, meaning that one item, once used, allows the player to fight multiple monsters with an advantage. Players can also use them directly from their inventory. Spawning stations, on the other hand, will break when fully explored. However, they will not be removed from the inventory, and instead the player will have to remember to repair them regularly.
Spocco also added stats to the character’s profile, such as attack power and survivability. Players will be able to control the strength of their strikes or the effectiveness of their signals. This is another step towards introducing more classic RPG elements into the game. Future updates will also expand these features.
The Witcher: Monster Slayer will also continue to support the “Monsters of the Week” system by introducing a series of temporary quests for alternating new creatures or those known from the Bestiary. Depending on the type of monster, the quests will involve an entire group or a rare, legendary or brand new creature, the type of which players will only learn at the beginning of their week.
