Today, on the 24th, PlayStation posted an interview with Bungie Destiny historian Ashley Flanagan on her blog, in which she goes into more detail about the history of the Season of the Distressed. This isn’t Ash’s first time as a historian in video games, and her training is based on Roman history, where she says she was inspired by the plot development and motivations of former Cabal emperor Calus.
During the interview, Flanagan details the former emperor’s glorious past and his time lost in space after being exiled by his own daughter, Kayatl. It also introduces new characters that give more context to the entire Destiny story, such as Ghaul, who was close to the Cabal but ended up teaming up with Kayatl to betray him.
