This week, 37-year-old Korean Seong-Woo Lee, nicknamed “Infiltration”, was banned this week from several fighting game tournaments such as EVO, Combo Breaker, and CEO. In addition, his Twitch account has also been suspended.

The player’s ban is likely related to the racist remarks he made during a live broadcast on Twitch. A video of the moment has been circulating on social media in recent days but has since been removed.

According to the player, in a statement on Twitter, the championship organizations did not mention what conditions were violated to justify the ban. He also claims that he did not commit any infractions the last few times he participated in tournaments.

Penetration has always been a controversial name in the fighting game community, and he himself showed why in a report. The player mentions that in recent years he was banned from some online and offline events, and in one of them, one of the sponsors told the organizers that he would only support the tournaments if he did not participate.

“Two years ago, there was an offline tournament for Granblue Fantasy Versus and Street Fighter V organized by Core-A Studios, which I could not be invited to. [Na época]I could only speculate about this decision, but later one of its organizers explained to me that “our sponsor, HitBox, made a condition to not allow Indication to participate in this tournament in order to continue it,” he said.

This is not the first time the Infiltrations have been banned from participating in championships. In 2018, the player was banned from participating in the 2018 and 2019 Capcom Cup due to incidents of domestic violence. At the time, Capcom stated that if any new issues came up, he could be permanently banned from any tournament hosted by Capcom.

So far, no organizer has officially commented on this case.
