The complexities of running a condominium, including interpersonal conflict resolution, work supervision, compliance with the rules for the use of common areas and everything related to the daily work of the liquidator. This is the script for WhastCipa, a game published by Cipa, one of the largest condominium operators in the country, created by Double Dash Studios, responsible for such successful games as Sky Racket, Kroox and Acampamento de Natal. Most of the situations that take place in the game are based on real events that are part of the daily life of many buildings. The environment has a WhatsApp group as an action point where the characters interact.

The game is an interactive text story created for all condominium management audiences with illustrations and a unique style. WhastCipa progresses with a series of conversations and the player is in charge of overseeing the action while making important decisions about the liquidator’s day-to-day life. The choice made determines the path that the story will take. The game does not require downloading and is available on the Cipa website at the link.

  • Cipa has always invested heavily in technology to make life easier for our customers, making the process less bureaucratic and costly. The idea behind the game followed the same logic, only with the addition of a game question as a way to improve the company’s interaction with the people we serve. We show the day-to-day life of a condominium administrator with great empathy, always with humor and ease. Some of the situations posted in the game were inspired by real cases, making the game very familiar to everyone,” explains Cipa Marketing Manager Daniel Quagliani.

Established in 2017, Rio de Janeiro-based production company Double Dash develops games that allow consumers to create connections through many different aspects of the game world with visual, sound, mechanical or emotional connections. The company manufactures using original IPs such as “Sky Racket” as well as licensed IPs and services associated with these products.

  • I think the main pillars of the game were accessibility, familiarity and comedy. By following these directions, we believe we have achieved the goal of creating an entertaining experience for everyone, whether they are used to playing video games or not, where they will recognize characters and familiar situations from condominium life while playing, sums up Jande. Saavedra, creative director at Double Dash Studios.

For Quagliani, one of the main challenges in developing the game was to strike the right balance between what actually happens in a condominium, and the fun and enjoyment that the game should contain.

  • We thought, first of all, to make a beautiful, well-structured game. Double Dash Studio has developed the game to the best of its ability. This product does well with two requirements: it must be a marketing and communication tool for Cipa; and it’s like a game that you can play no matter what. We have found this common denominator in a well-designed strategy to achieve this balance.
