This week, players will once again be able to participate in the Final Fantasy 14 free trial.
The free trial of the popular MMORPG was previously discontinued following the release of Endwalker in December. Final Fantasy 14 has experienced server issues due to the game’s recent popularity and has been suspended. To combat this, Square Enix has temporarily suspended new purchases of the game as well as suspending free spins. As an apology, the studio offered free game time to existing players affected by the cooldown. However, the problems were mainly caused by a lack of resources, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Luckily, the MMO hosts seem to be in much better shape now, according to director and producer Naoki Yoshida. Square Enix has released more server expansions to keep up with demand, including the New Ocean Data Center expansion with its North American and European data center expansions scheduled for 2022.
According to Yoshida, a free trial of Final Fantasy 14 will be available on PC and PlayStation starting February 22.

Last month, players were finally able to purchase Final Fantasy 14 after a sales halt led to the exit of many up-and-coming players. But now, with the return of free trials, more players can retry the game before logging into the MMO Behemoth.
