Two years after Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision has confirmed that a “new Warzone experience” is in development and will be announced later this year.
The news comes amid Activision Blizzard’s Q1 2022 financial results, with the company announcing that the new game will be built alongside the next big Call of Duty game, which will also be another Modern Warfare.
According to Activision’s latest financial results

“The Call of Duty teams made significant improvements to Vanguard and Warzone in Q1,” Activision said in a statement. Infinity Ward is a studio that published Warzone. According to Activision Blizzard, its return to Battle Royale oversight could mark a resurgence in the game, which has seen declining interest in recent months. The sequel to the most successful Call of Duty game to date will increase Warzone’s odds.
The exact timing of Warzone 2’s release has yet to be determined, but the recent outage of Infinity Ward’s social media channels means many have revealed the new Call of Duty game.
