What is Pokemon Transform in Pokemon GO?

Pokemon GO trainers are a little confused about “transforming” Pokemon.

During the 2-Oh?-22 event held on April 1, trainers had the opportunity to conduct a special survey consisting of three different themed stages. In the second phase, trainers are tasked with catching the “Three Pokémon Transformed”. This confused some who may have never heard the phrase “Transform Pokemon” before.

Let me explain some of the confusion.

As you can see, the transformation of the Pokémon obtained through special research is Dito!

Also known as the “Transform” Pokémon, Ditto is known for its ability to assume almost any form. This Pokémon can “restore cellular structure” to achieve this. However, its accuracy depends on its ability to see what is happening. Same if it just tries to convert from memory alone, it tends to get some details wrong. It was originally discovered in the Kanto region and has the PokeDex number #132.

It can only move independently twice: the fast “Transform” move and the charged “Fight” move.

While this Pokemon isn’t very common at the time of writing, that doesn’t mean Ditto will ever reappear. Its appearance is certainly rare, but trainers can often encounter Dito throughout the year.

Trainers may suspect that Dito is in their hands if this Pokémon is generally harder to catch or has an above average CP total.
