Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: the loaded dice announced

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet developers Game Freak have unveiled a new item: Charged Dice. This new item gives Pokemon more explosive attack abilities.

Over the past few months, Game Freak has released more and more information about upcoming Pokemon games, even though they’re still three months away from release. We know that the new games will be set in Paldea and, like all new Pokémon regions, will have their own unique Pokémon and characters. Along with these regional changes, new elements have been added to the game to improve combat and give players more options. One of these new items is a charged die that will make certain Pokemon even deadlier.

Loaded dice in Pokemon Scarlet and Purple will increase the potential for multiple moves. The full description on Scarlet and Violet’s official website reads, “If the Pokémon holding this item uses a multi-hit, that hit will be hit more.”

This means Pokemon that use moves like Scale Shot and Spike Cannon will get a huge boost from hitting Loaded Dice. Charged dice won’t be used for most Pokémon of course, but the new item is definitely worth using if you’re multi-charging a single Pokémon. Charged dice will also likely only be useful on multi-hits that do a lot of damage, as its advantage won’t be that great on weaker moves like arm thrust and barrage.
