When Pokemon Scarlet and Violet debuted in February, fans started building anticipation for the next-gen Pokemon to release.
Trailers for the game show off what might be the most open Pokémon ever, and fans are excited to be able to play the Pokémon they’ve been waiting for. Of course, the main game series is only part of the Pokemon franchise. For fans of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, each new generation means new cards to collect and play.

John-Anthony DeSoto of Ludkins Media reviewed the release of TCG expansions and the release of a new base game. While Pokemon Sword and Shield released in November 2019, it saw the Pokemon Sword and Shield TCG expansion release in Japan in December and hit the West in February 2020.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are set to release on November 18. Based on the information detailed in Disotto’s article, we can expect the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet TCG expansion to hit Western audiences in February 2023.
