A new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet was released on June 1. Interestingly, a new competitor was also introduced in the latest trailer.
In the latest Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer, Nemona confronts players. Described on the game’s official website as a “strong Pokémon trainer” with a “sunny and energetic mood”, the player is described as more experienced in the Pokémon world than the player character.
Interestingly, it doesn’t look like Nemona will get any of the three starter Pokémon at the start of the journey. The battle shown in the trailer sends Nemona onto Pawmi, a new electric rodent Pokemon. The website also states that it will use two new Pokémon, Lechonk and Smoliv, which appeared in the trailer. That might change as more footage of the game is released in the coming months, but for now I’m wondering why the lore of an opponent having one of their starter Pokemon has changed.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be released on November 18.
