XSET Rainbow Six Siege Head Coach Matthew Budgega Figueredo has been suspended for 12 months after 12 months of contention during a match at the Six Charlotte Major in 2022. Ma Friday.

According to a rival statement from Ubisoft, Budge repeatedly violated the Rainbow Six Circuit Global Rulebook during matches between XSET and Team Liquid.
Effective May 18, 2023, Budega’s suspension complies with the minimum penalty in Appendix B of the Rules Sanctions Index. The maximum penalty includes a lifetime ban and a higher fine.

While Ubisoft didn’t provide details on exactly what Budgega did on stage, Team Liquid manager Andre Sensei wrote on Twitter that he made a homophobic slur at one of his players “among many ‘others”. (While it’s hard to figure out exactly what Budega said, footage of that event can be found here.)

XSET quickly released its own statement on the matter, adding that it will review Budgeta’s actions outside of the competitive arena and will also work with the North American organization’s internal resources.
