It’s a game-breaking problem, especially when you attend events like Safari Zone or GO Fest in Seville. Anyway, at least I didn’t come downstairs without explaining myself first. At first I thought it was due to my new Xiaomi phone, but when I met many players during the championship in Frankfurt, everyone told me that they had the same problem.
The error obviously came from the large room in which we were, a little underground. Network and Wi-Fi have gone really bad. The concern was that my GPS was doing its job as I exited the building and returned to France. It was quite funny at first because later my character traveled miles without leaving the house (ideal for eggs!), but when the famous red message arrived, I was very disappointed. “GPS signal not found” It popped up on my screen every two minutes and prevented me from clicking on any of the creatures.

After several tries, the only solution I found is this:
- Keep the game open until a red error message appears!
- Slide your phone’s top bar with different tabs,
- Click on the airplane icon Switch to airplane mode,
- Click again to close!
- Your game will be updated later and you need to capture GPS better
Other tips to improve Pokémon GO GPS
Of course, this technology works hand in hand with other small settings to be made on your smartphone:
- Make sure your phone’s location is set to “High Sensitivity”. If you are using iOS, Android (or other), this setting should be “Location”. All smartphones have a search function in the settings, so feel free to use it and dial “location” to find it. Then look for “position accuracy” and make sure it is still set to maximum.
- Very often, a GPS error occurs while you are indoors. Even if you have a Wi-Fi connection, the game may not work properly and hence this error may appear.
- If the error persists, make sure your 3G/4G/5G is working by watching a video on YouTube for example. Bad comments still affect Pokémon GO “GPS not found”,
- On rare occasions, an error may occur on Niantic’s servers!

- It is also recommended to regularly clear the cache of Google locations.
