Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer wrote on Twitter Thursday to address the recently announced Redfall and Starfield delays.

On May 12, Bethesda announced its decision to postpone Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023. Both games can, of course, be part of the Bethesda and Xbox show event in June, providing a full pool of deep games. For the first time, many fans expressed their disappointment that their airing was delayed for a year.

“These decisions are tough on the teams playing the games and on our fans,” Spencer said on Twitter. “I fully support giving teams time to release these great games when they are ready, but we are getting feedback. We expect quality and consistency to be assured. We will continue to work to better respond to these expectations.

Starfield was previously scheduled for release on November 11, 2022, while Redfall was slated for release in September 2022. As with all first-party Xbox and Bethesda games these days, both are likely to launch directly on Xbox Game Pass on day one. .
