Riot’s great change from last patch and the big problem behind it

League of Legends players were a bit angry with Riot Games for their inactivity in Trinidad.

The champion dominated the game for months and annoyed the public without any action from the developers. Passivity that ended with the introduction of the 12.6 nerf in the last patch, which many thought was too timid.. The studio barely touched on one of gaming’s most hated characters, but time has shown that the team’s balance is right. Not only did they make sense, but they made a big change.

Big hit for League of Legends developers

The problem for players was that Riot was only focused on reducing their cooldown. E (hurt) When the champion suffers a critical hit. A setting that seems almost irrelevant but very important. Waiting an extra half second for its ability means a trident can use the spell one less time, especially if you manage to stay away from it.

The changes met all of the developer’s goals. They removed the more casual players from the champion, reduced their earnings to 50%, and were able to reduce bans. Although the drop is noticeable, they still have a long way to go in this latest figure. But stats show that Riot Games has achieved everything that can be achieved by adjusting the balance that League of Legends experiences on a regular basis.

A problem hidden under the rug

While we have no doubt that this change is good, it also serves to hide a deeper problem.

Trinidad is one of the most hated characters in the community and among professional players. Not just because of how strong he’s been lately, but because of his design. Riot Games constantly has to make exceptions so it doesn’t break or render the game unusable due to its design that appeals to the early years of League of Legends and doesn’t fully meet the developer’s current standards.

It doesn’t even look like the Trindammer case can be solved with major updates, as Olaf and Talia will soon be.

Even though the champion seems balanced today, it’s mainly because he has an odd combination of the strongest base stats in the game and overloaded abilities, allowing him to move moderately well.

A case that suggests he needs more treatment than the other characters (except for Scarner), which doesn’t seem to be the case any time soon. Riot’s slots are already full by 2022, and Shivana seems to be a high priority – at the current rate, the studio shouldn’t have time for that until 2024.
