Riot Games continues to clean up and improve animations in League of Legends. Orianna’s VFX (visual effects) changes are already in PBE, but they won’t be the only ones. Sirhaian, one of Riot’s top visual effects specialists, has just released visual changes to Leona’s abilities.
3D model remaining on the tile
All particles will be modified, so a champion whose 3D model will not be updated will have much better abilities.. You can see all the fixes and new features released by Sirhaian himself in the video below.
Here’s what Rioter said in a Reddit post: “Like previous VFX updates we’ve done in the past (Vel’Koz, Zilean, Syndra, etc.), we’re working on updating the champion visual effects (VFX) that effect spells need to be clarified. Our goal is to add visual effects to the current league. Meet the standards and increase the clarity of the game. This time it’s Leona’s turn, patch 12.7..

The base skin will be affected as well as some older volumes. Like Pool Party, PROJECT or Grill Queen. Besides the fire from his sword and shield, here are some skill changes:
- Passive: Visual Clearance
- A: A stunning new effect
- Z: New beams of light will be added whenever an upgrade becomes available. There is also a new explosion.
- E: New shell
- Answer: New actor animation
