As Riot’s current schedule for the event is known, MSI 2022 will be held at Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) and will be open to Legends fans for the first time since the 2020 World Cup Finals in Shanghai, in China.

Last year, MSI hosted the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2021 Stage 2: Masters in Reykjavik, Iceland. While VCT will be back in April without the crowds, Riot seems to have reached a level of confidence with its well-established esports needed to safely host a fan-friendly event.

Looking forward to your personal reception, please take your time and visit Busan City during MSI 2022.”

Although live people are added to the mix, the MSI 2022 unfortunately seems to keep last year’s format.

MSI 2021 features 11 teams since GAM Esports, a representative of Vietnam Championship Series (VCS), was unable to participate due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, while MSI 2022 will also feature 11 teams after Legends announcement. League Continental League (LCL). It will not ship on March 25 because spring break was canceled during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

So this year the teams will again be divided into three groups, two for four and one for only three.

The top two teams from each double-round group will advance to the second match for a six-team ruble to decide the first four qualifying rounds, the first 5 qualifying stages and finally the grand final.

“South Korea has been a leader in the sports industry for decades,” League of Legends Global Head of League of Legends Naz Aletaham told EsportsMag. “We are thrilled to honor this country’s heritage in sports, celebrate the passion of Korean fans, and bring the talent of MSI Pro teams to Korea for the first time. Busan was an incredible environment for the world in 2014 and 2018 and we can.” Wait until the return to see the fight between the best teams in League of Legends.”
