Riot Games made the first announcements for League of Legends’ 2023 pre-season this week. Concretely, we learned the name of the next champion, K’Sante – a tank to play in the top lane – as well as information on the characters coming to Summoner’s Rift, announcements on changes in the jungle. But it’s not just him.

For season 13, Riot Games also wants to tackle communication and in-game vision, two points that the studio wants to improve. Minor changes for what appears to be a fairly quiet pre-season.

Improved systems

Like last year, Riot Games plans to make more system-specific changes. The long-term goal is to update elements of the game before updating Runes Reforged, Elemental Rift or Elemental Scales.

For this pre-season, Riot Games plans to update the systems, especially communication and vision, to make the jungle even more exciting and accessible, but not only because many changes are planned specifically for this position and the old enemy will do it. Back from the river bank.

League of Legends

According to Riot Games, we can only agree that the communication system is aging., especially compared to other games. That’s why new features will be added to League of Legends, features that will make it easier for you to communicate with your team to win.

The in-game ping system will be improved. While you can only do basic communications with the current system, Riot Games wants to make your communications clearer. The new pings will combine what we already know, but most importantly, more options will be available, such as improved visibility and a ping attack. The studio is also thinking of ways to highlight pings with your teammates, improve your macro strategy for completing objectives, and know where your pings are on the map, even if they’re not visible on your screen. .

League of Legends

Riot Games plans to make minor improvements to the vision system in addition to changes in communication., because it is a bit outdated. Changing the little things isn’t easy enough, and getting the most out of them is even less so. Therefore, the studio is trying to make them more intuitive. The new indicators – as you can see above – will allow you to better place your markers, as well as let you know as soon as you have placed how many you have sent on the map.

Riot Games has yet to announce the start dates for the pre-season, but it is generally expected to start after the World Championship. More changes are likely to come, changes that the studio should reveal very soon.
