LoL: Top Champions at 12:10 p.m.… URF!

Although most players spend most of their time in the main League of Legends mode, other modes are still popular. Since the latest update brings some big changes to the balance of the game, it would be interesting to see its effect on other game modes before breaking Summoner’s Rift ranks. Ultra Rapid Fire (URF) was our first candidate.

Quartet of Death

Kyle sits at the top of the URF tier list. While gaining strength in Summoner’s Rift is hardly surprising given its race patch, its dominance in the URF is a bigger surprise. In general, champions who can cast spells have an advantage more often, but Kyle relies more on his autoattacks than his spells. His appearance at a 63% win rate is unexpected and confirms his current strength. Fiora takes second place, and this time it’s no surprise. The Sublime Swashbuckler uses URF mechanics that provide nearly unlimited hits while making its passive procs more frequent. Not to mention that with a correct construction (and in the right situation, namely in a relatively long battle for the URF) you can issue two ultimatums per team.

The podium is occupied by Ukung and Sona. The Monkey King is already very powerful at the top and it’s no surprise to see his dominance in the URF. This game mode gives him more mobility which can sometimes be lacking in the classic mode. Wukong’s great strength mainly comes from his dissatisfaction with being an individual champion in this mode. His Ultimatum is perfect for any Wombo Combo. This allows it to adapt to all strategies. This is also typical of Sona, the champion who sees the most benefit from a URF mechanic. Thanks to the improved magic reload speed, it’s as if your four allied muses are under three blessings. Of course, Sona is unbalanced for this situation, which makes her very strong in URF.

What has the patch changed?

If we look at the statistics of patch 12.9, we see that the situation has not changed much. By then, Kyle was already dominant, as were Vukong and Sona, who made up the top three. Fiora benefited more from the patch, dropping from eighth to second place, but overall that doesn’t change much. He’s very strong in this mode before the patch, so his status hasn’t changed much. The list of URF lines has changed a bit overall, but it hasn’t been a major upheaval. On the contrary, none of the champions saw a big increase in earnings and went from bad to medium good. Finally, this could be important information. While the patch had a significant impact on Classic mode, it hasn’t changed much in URF yet.
