Before the world watched the harsh reveal between RNG and T1, players from teams that didn’t qualify for MSI were gearing up for a summer season in offbeat eyeshadow. With the arrival of the final patch, which will redistribute the cards, many questions arise about which teams will play this summer and which teams will be more cautious. While it is difficult to predict exactly which formations will mark the second half of 2022, the successes of certain players make it possible to get an idea of the structure of structures at a given moment. And ShowMaker’s success yesterday didn’t go unnoticed, except that it was very impressive.
Got 1st and 2nd place
While Xiaohu, Caps and Faker were fighting for the title of the best midfielder in the world, the fourth thief invited him to a party. ShowMaker finally succeeded yesterday in placing its two accounts in the top two of the Korean ladder, one of the most controversial in the world, on a Chinese superserver. The DAMWON Kia mid laner began to rise through the ranks during his mid-season hiatus. After a while, he managed to create his MIDKING account at the top of the stairs. Then, while MIDKING was still first, he started the second draw, which moved up to second place yesterday. This feat is particularly difficult to achieve, as Challenger players are forced to play every day to avoid relegation.
This mechanic was placed by Riot Games so that the player does not lose a good rating at the start of the season and then respectively AFK for the rest of the period, a place where a more regular player cannot recover. This limitation is very important at the level of the competitor, the player must play several games per day. (On average, it’s possible not to play a day or two without relegation). And being number one on the leaderboard means losing will result in more points than you can earn. So before ShowMaker could move up the ranks with his second score, he also had to win games on his main score to avoid being caught or relegated. In the last 20 games before entering the top 2, ShowMaker had a low win rate of 80%.
Champions are used
As seen in the screenshot above, ShowMaker was essentially using the same champions on both accounts. Ahri is her pick and the player on her DK ShowMaker account has a 68% win over Nine-Tailed Vixen. On the other hand, the choice of Vex is more surprising, the player has “only” 58% victory with Jordel, while his performance is much better with other champions.
According to their win rates, Zoe and Yone won the prize with 79% and 82% respectively in 19 and 17 games. ShowMaker, on the other hand, seems to be playing well with Leblanc but struggling to win with him. He is also the only champion with less than 50% wins and the second best champion with K/D/A. Finally, Akal has good, albeit unusual, stats.
