Also, it would be tame for the New York developer to bookmark the transfer of GTA 5 save files from PC to console so that not everything gets transferred.
This also happens when transferring saves from Xbox One to PS5 and from PS4 to Xbox Series X. If saves are transferred across platforms, players will lose all their GTA$. This is probably a way for PC savings to negate any unfair advantage.
