Episode 3 of the first Fortnite Champion series has already kicked off in a very intense two-week format like the previous edition. Remember, FNCS now consists of just two qualifying sessions. On the other hand, it is the semi-final which gains in importance this year, with three sessions where each team of the top 1 automatically wins its sesame for the grand final.

How is each qualifying session going?

Season 1

  • Thursday February 17, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: The qualifying round is open, the 400 best duos advance to the second round.
  • Friday February 18, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: 2nd round, 7 matches, the 50 best duos advance to the 3rd round.
  • Friday February 18, 10 p.m.-1 p.m.: Round 3, Game Six, the first eight will go directly to the final. All other duos receive series points based on their placement, which also advance to the semi-finals.

Session 2

  • Saturday February 19, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: The qualifying round is open, the 400 best duos will advance to the second round.
  • Sunday February 20, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: 2nd round, 7 matches, the 50 best duos advance to the 3rd round.
  • Sunday February 20, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Round 3, Game 6, the first eight will go directly to the final. All other duos receive series points based on their placement, which also advance to the semi-finals.

The duo format should reasonably be retained in almost all major competitions in 2022 (while trios were at the forefront last year). This means that if the team members get along well, they can keep the same duo for next year. The last duo of the FNCS dates back to April 2020, the coronation of the French Nayte and Andilex in season 2!
