As promised in late November, Chapter 3, Season 1 FNCS will be the first iteration of Epic Games’ new FNCS format for 2022.
Not only will the competition change from Trios to Duos for Fortnite’s main Competitive game mode, but the event will only have two elimination stages followed by a two-week competition, including a semi-final and a final.
The $3,008,500 prize pool begins February 17 with the qualifying round.
The top eight duos will have two chances in each qualifier to qualify directly for the FNCS Finals, the first from February 17 to February 18 and the second from February 19 to February 20.
The semi-finals will then begin with a slight variation from February 24 to February 27 – for the duo to continue, they must either win the match or be one of the top six most consistent teams in one of the three sessions. To finish.
Lastly, the Season 1 Episode 3 FNCS Finals will be held from March 5 through March 6 of the following month.
The FNCS Finals will be in a similar format to previous seasons, but with a new Match Point variant. The team can end the competition early with 500 total points and three victory cycles. As soon as the team reaches both thresholds, the FNCS Champion will be declared.
If no team reaches these thresholds after 12 games, the final will be played exactly as it has been in recent seasons.
English language coverage of the NAE, NAW, and EU Season 1 FNCS will almost certainly stream on twitch.tv/fortnite and youtube.com/fortnite.
