FIFA 23 FUT Champions: Format, Rewards, Predictions

FIFA 23 Ultimate Team will be announced this month and is expected to include a number of changes across game modes. One of FUT Competitive’s biggest features is the FUT Champions mode, where players unlock special rewards by entering a Weekend League with their best team and playing dozens of matches within a set amount of time.

FUT Champions has been completely overhauled in FIFA 22 and the mode update has received positive feedback from FIFA fans. While we wait for EA Sports to announce the new changes to the FUT Champions format and rewards, here are our predictions on what to expect.

Due to the adoption of the new weekend league format in FIFA 22, we don’t expect many changes to the FUT Champions format in FIFA 23.

A weekend league match will be available any day of the week in FIFA 23, of course after qualifying. Qualification requirements may change to allow more players to compete, but no changes are planned for new FUT Champions.

Many argue that FUT Champions should change in FIFA 23. Over the years, the FUT Champions reward system has weakened, offering very few good rewards outside of the big pack. This is consistent with the TOTW format in FUT, and after the first few months many TOTW calls are unnecessary in FUT.

If FIFA 23 TOTW items received better upgrades rather than a linear upgrade path, they would be more sought after as rewards not only in the transfer market but also in FUT Champions, making the game mode more attractive. Also, like during TOTS, placing Promo Cards in the Reds Pack will also be better for FUT Champions, and as we’re seeing more often in FIFA 22, we might see this trigger on Day 1 of FIFA 23. .

FIFA 23 will be released worldwide on September 30 on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Stadia. Ultimate Team Reveal will be released on August 11.
