Call of Duty (CoD): Warzone players have expressed disappointment with the game’s monotonous “sniper meta”.
It is not uncommon to have a rotating commodity in competitive direct serve games. Games like Apex Legends, Overwatch and others have experienced this phenomenon, including Call of Duty: Warzone – but some may disagree, according to social media. It seems that popular sniper rifles have caused controversy and players have been calling for a change.
? There are Golden Vaults on Revival Island, but you didn’t think it was just a waltz march, did you?
? Wealth awaits those who answer the call…

The main complaint from the playerbase is that the proliferation of two weapons makes innovation fundamentally impossible and unforgivable. Players must perform one or the other to remain competitive or potentially win a match. Some have noted that this meta has been around much longer than others realize.
The style of play itself has been called “repetitive” and “boring”. Players claim it’s too simplistic and almost “too easy” to kill from extreme range. It also gives them an unfair advantage, as some may not realize the sniper is aiming at them until they are downed.
Others, however, disagreed, saying that in general, snipers are still hard to kill. Assault Rifles have higher K/D on average than Snipers. They say only above average players can perform these maneuvers with armed sections of the community. In fact, those who complain may simply be “taken to their feet”.
Still, Nerf may be coming to snipers soon, and that seems to mark the potential end of the sniper meta. Time will tell what the next set of powerful weapons will look like.
