The apparent leak was posted by u/Purpletoaster20 on the r/GamingLeakAndRumors subreddit on Tuesday, a post that has won 21 community accolades at the time of publication.

Purpletoaster20 claims in the post that the leak is the result of months of research and discussions with insiders on the mod, and they will also be posting a full video on the subject on August 18.

Along with an Imgur album that reportedly includes over 400 leaked concept art, screenshots, and more of the mod’s development process, Purpletoaster20 runs everything you need to know about the scrapped content.

Reviewing the post, it appears to match Jason Schreier’s 2019 Kotaku report, which details the “turbulent production”, “serious reboots”, and “constant stuttering” that plagued Treyarch and the QA team in the months leading up to launch. . Black Ops 4.

“The original Black Ops 4 campaign was called Career” in Purpletoaster20’s post. “This was a 2v2 ‘finish race’ mode, as covered by Jason Schreier in his 2019 article on developer abuse at Treyarch. The mod was canceled in early 2018 due to technical issues and the General gameplay The Loop is above a recurring game that was supposed to release a month ago in October 2018. Also, there is very little information in the community on how to play this mode.

Some of the key features associated with the mod include:

As a result, it’s certainly remarkable that a leak of this magnitude has surfaced, especially nearly four years after BO4’s initial launch.

At the time, especially before Schreier’s report, some may recall that Activision’s narrative was that “a BO4 campaign was never planned” and that “Treyarch just wanted to” try something different “.

According to Purpletoaster20, this leak was something they could only reach for now due to the college’s liability, and it was something they wanted to share with those who were interested.

“Whether [Activision and Treyarch] Beware they are deleted and I get on with my life,” Purpletoaster20 wrote. “It was a fun summer project and taught me a lot about game development (which is weird since my career choice wasn’t close at all). From now on, you won’t have to worry about me that’s + that’s all i have from mp advice and i don’t think i’ll have time to do something like this again… video and 1 post i’ll continue more late.
