By pre-ordering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, fans quickly realized that the cheapest version available costs $70.
Yesterday Activision released the official global reveal for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 despite the game being announced in May. The game will continue from the reset of Infinity War Modern Warfare from 2019.
The reveal caused a big stir in the COD community, and it’s safe to say that fans are eager to hold pre-orders. However, despite the commotion, one factor left audiences with a slightly bitter taste: cost.

As seen on the Modern Warfare pre-order site, the standard version on PC will eventually give players $70. The same price is given for the Game Cross-Gen Bundle on PlayStation and Xbox.
Currently, a separate, next-gen version only for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One is currently not listed. It looks like players can only pre-order these builds as part of the Cross-Gen Bundle. Find out if the cheaper version will only be available for the latest generation consoles.
Modern Warfare 2 will be the latest game to join the $70 digital edition trend, with pricing extending to Steam purchases. Call of Duty games are notorious for having additional purchases and microtransactions, which makes its high price tag even more inconvenient.
The premium version of the game is also available for pre-order. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition costs $99.99 and includes many goodies like the Ghost Legacy Pack and Battle Pass.
