Warzone fans have often asked for players to upgrade from the standard 150 to 170-200, something Activision hasn’t always wanted to agree to. However, the shocking turn of events seemed to be Activision moving and reducing the number of players in each game from 150 to 120.

The Warzone lobby has always been slightly larger than the average Battle Royale, using 150 characters instead of 100 characters per game. However, as gaming fans have long requested a bigger lobby and want to add more players for various reasons, Activision seems to have done the opposite and reduced the lobby to 120 in a recent update.
In the patch notes, Activision reveals that it aims to help progress mid-game. It was used in the middle of the game to make it more lively and less “claustrophobic”. This is in addition to major upgrades to help speed up the overall pace of the game, from a heist-capable speed booster to a comprehensive underground transport system that aids in map navigation. Overall, it seems to have been used to increase the speed of the game and provide a faster and smoother experience, although it’s not exactly what the audience wanted.
Another solution would be to permanently load multiple playlists only when there are different numbers of players per lobby. Perhaps Activision will make progress as we continue to monitor the response to these changes.
