The leak around the potential Modern Warfare 2 DMZ mod has been removed thanks to a single YouTuber eagle.
Previously, we saw that Modern Warfare 2, the latest installment in the Call of Duty (CoD) series, could feature a Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) mode. It was originally known by CoD Trusted Disclosure and Industry Insider. Tom Henderson in early December last year. Unfortunately, those shots could have ruined the entire leak – and not on good terms.
According to YouTube Patrol, a new video released on YouTube channels today, May 22, has completely destroyed the images posted a few hours ago. In his videos, Patolini depicts flying, real-world locations from different angles — without pretty filters — and cleverly exposes them as angular detections at current Call of Duty locations.
For example, the “Multiple Biomes” DMZ leak may actually be an image of a Gunfight: Hill map or Anniyah Palace or Talsik Backlot. The plane in “Cycles of Day and Night” is literally a dark plane on Azhir. The gun range is obviously only Al Raab Air Base.
This can mean several things.
The first, and perhaps most troubling, is that all three explanations, Henderson, Hope, and MW2Ghost, were wrong. If it is possible, it is unlikely because the three angles of checking the leak give it its credibility. If all three aren’t getting information from the same faulty source, it’s entirely possible that the DMZ mod itself is completely real.
This will lead to our second option: 4chan images are fraudulent. Given the 4chan anonymity shield and clear patrol removal, this is the most likely option.
More information about the leak will be released as it becomes available. As always, DBLTAP urges readers to gather any information with a grain of salt before approval. Neither Activison nor Infinity Ward appeared to talk about the leak in DMZ mode.
