According to the leak, Modern Warfare 2 could announce its official game later this year at Summer Games Fest.
Although not much is known officially about the 2022 offering of the Call of Duty series, everything could change at the Summer Games Festival. According to the new leak, courtesy @RalphsValve On Twitter, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 could turn into a game/campaign reveal.

This will be the first official release of any game from a future post. So far, fans have only seen the logo reveal released by Infinity Ward on April 28. The Summer Games Fest is scheduled for next month in June.
Activision previously announced that the CoD series is breaking its annual release cycle by ending in 2023. All eyes will be on Modern Warfare 2, given that it will run slightly longer than previous records. After a mixed version of Call of Duty: Vanguard, the stakes are definitely high.
Modern Warfare 2 has yet to receive an official release date or confirmed content recap, but leaks have been circulating quite often – even before Vanguard’s release. The game was previously known as “Project Cortez” and was known as the sequel to Modern Warfare after being revealed in a leak in 2019.
As always, this information comes from leaks and rumors. Until official confirmation by Activision, fans should set their expectations accordingly.
