UFC and Twitch culture will be on a collision course on Friday as the streaming platform’s two biggest stars take part in one of the sport’s biggest conventions. The Battle of the Ages, taking place at the UFC X convention in Las Vegas, pits Nikolas “NICKMERCS” Kolchef against Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar in a fight designed for maximum viral appeal. UFC X is a tradition for UFC fans. This year’s event will take place July 1-2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center near the sports headquarters. This replay is part of the UFC’s 10th annual International Fight Week, which concludes July 2 with UFC 276 at T-Mobile Arena.
Players interested in watching NICKMERCS and TimTheTatman compete can tune into the UFC Twitch channel at 2 p.m. ET to watch the two face off. But they have to keep their expectations in check: they won’t fight in a real UFC match. Instead, they’ll play a game of EA Sports UFC 4 in front of the crowd, then switch to Arena mode in Apex Legends.
The NICKMERCS team for Apex will include FaZe Kalei, FaZe Nio, and Stable Ronaldo. Tim will work with ClaraAtWork, DiazBiffle and LuckyChamu.
