The Apex Legends devs fixed an issue that caused Watson’s teeth to not appear correctly when players were wearing one of his skins.
Wardrobe malfunctions aren’t new to games. Whether it’s a texture glitch that causes every character’s shorts to turn a neon pink color, a loading issue where models disappear behind their eyeballs, or a physics bug that ruins the lining in cloth, appearance bugs have been around in games for a long time. Anyone can remember that.
Apex Legends is certainly not exempt, despite its prestige.

The Outlands Explorer skin was originally released as part of the Season 5 event in 2020. Shortly after its release, players noticed that a skin shade issue was causing their teeth to look so dark they had almost gone. Frankly, it was a disappointment for many Watson fans, who liked Kahn’s look.
Now these issues are fixed as Respawn released the issue with the latest patch 1.98. This patch also included a few other cosmetic fixes such as Newcastle’s interaction with the Trident and other UI issues.
Frankly, this isn’t the first issue with the Apex Legends skin, and it likely won’t be the last. Watson’s case is relatively minor, as nothing in the game was broken by “losing” his teeth. Hopefully Cannes’ next gaffe hits a similar playing field.
