Apex Legends saw growth in Gold Knockdown Shields with the creation of IMC Armor. This has kept the public demanding some sort of change for months. Previously, this wasn’t really a big deal because the item was hard to find. It’s hard to complain about what rarely happens. But since players found plenty in Storm Point, it makes sense that they wanted a change.
In an interview with The Loadout, Respawn’s Evan Nikolic directly answered a question about the legendary Knockdown shield.
“I’m not committing to anything at this stage, but we appreciate it and there will be changes in the future.

The question is, how soon will we see this change? Although Respawn has been aware of the complaints for some time, nothing has been done so far. Even when developers ask for feedback, players seem to give the same feedback over and over and nothing gets done.
Probably because it is difficult to find a balance. Gold Knockdown Shield has been a staple in the game since its inception and has never been a problem. If Respawn can fix the number of players players find in a match, they might be able to find a workaround.
