It’s no secret that CAR SMG has become the best all-stage SMG game and one of the top picks. Respawn Entertainment knows this too, as Live Balance designer John “Jobs” Larson commented. Just look at our vehicle list and you’ll see how dominant CAR is in the current meta.
Over on Reddit on Gun Wednesday, players discussed the power of the CAR SMG and whether Respawn intends to take it to the peak of its potential rise. Larson had a rather surprising response.
Respawn tends to make the new addon stronger rather than weaker, which gives fans a fun experience. This, of course, leads to an extreme balance, but at first it was not. When CAR first came out, it only used a few players, mostly at the top. It took a while for the vast majority of the playerbase to realize its strength. Now that it does, Respawn better understands what makes CAR so powerful and knows how to destroy it.
But based on the use of the phrase “when the time comes”, it doesn’t look like the gun will get taut anytime soon. That can wait until next season. Frankly, Respawn has done a better job balancing the legends with many valid legends up top, but the weapon is pretty scarred and dry.
