Planeta Cómic surprises with new science fiction and philosophy work by Al Ewing, Simone di Meo and Mariasa Miotti.

The search for meaning in existence is one of those big questions that have accompanied humanity throughout its history. About us? Why are we here? What are we doing and what should we do? What is the ultimate purpose of life? God exists? And if so, who or what is he and what is humanity’s relation to him? If all these questions had a categorical and mathematical answer, most of one’s own worries would certainly have disappeared. But at the same time, his many needs led to his creation. Better not have an answer in the end. Or that there are an infinite number of unprovable answers.

This pursuit has led to some of the finest artifacts ever created, and they have been produced from almost every possible prism. And now comes an offer We won’t find them until we die. Continue this trend from a groundbreaking, new and above all very personal perspective.

The premise here is that you are in the very distant future. It has been normalized as space travel. Until then, everything is known. But the thing is, dead gods keep appearing. The main character’s team loots the remains of it. But the captain has another purpose: to find a living God.

What is described here is, in a sense, a distorted version of a megalomaniacal project (or even more so). mobi dick in the key of hard science fiction. For this reason, it is a comic book with symbolic density that deserves a detailed examination. It’s a tough job that won’t be easy and won’t be to everyone’s taste. But when all this is accepted, the reader is rewarded.

Despite the grandeur of the concepts he uses, all the characters breathe humanity and with it a host of flaws, cross interests, complex stories, bitterness and personal fights. They are neither the most charismatic nor the nicest characters, but they manage to instill this empathy in the reader based on many facts. It would be easy to make use of schematic characters, but still, attention to many aspects is appreciated. The characters in this story are some of the most interesting and complex comics in recent times.

Somehow, it’s a work that always intrigues the reader and has a decidedly European twist. It is clearly appreciated that it is a time-consuming and complex project to develop. This is what the reader wants to follow instead of a clearer plot priority.

An ambitious work that aims to reflect human nature. A comic that claims it deserves despite its plot issues, in a historical time when a moment of reflection and doubt has become increasingly utopian. It’s always something to celebrate when an author’s in-depth work continues to thrive in a highly competitive market that demands different types of content.

This is not an expected project El Ewing† In his previous works, he is characterized as a light writer who adapts to any kind of project. Other than that brutality, it’s his time on the Hulk. Therefore, the association of this content with this name is initially shocking. This testifies to his undeniable versatility as a writer who is slowly taking his rightful place.

One of the biggest difficulties personally encountered while reading the work is art. Simone DiMeo. The indebtedness of the manga and the blatantly radically digital nature of its display left it a barrier to entry into this story. Something more organic would have been more appropriate. But still, it is a personal perception that should not be shared with the rest of the readers.

In any case, it is undeniable that the Italian artist made an effort to create evocative and magnificent images. It’s also clear that he’s someone who’s trying to bring new forms of storytelling to the table and innovate. These are the pages that the reader should stop to analyze and taste well. An artist with a great voice isn’t shy about flaunting it in a somewhat positive proposition.

The artist also has support. Mariasara Miottiwhich brings a very personal way of understanding color. None of the choices he makes are associated with such stories, giving the color an interesting flexibility. His colors are flashy and he manages to make everything look typical of the future environment of the business.

We won’t find them until we die. It’s not one of the most impressive projects to be found in the bookstore, but it’s one that stays with you over time. An interesting quiet comic that will overwhelm you with its ideas. In short, something different.† And that says a lot.
