8 things that should be included in our dream Star Wars game

May the 4th be with you. Every year May 4th is the official Star Wars Day, so we decided to take this opportunity to think about what the perfect Star Wars game we would like to contain should be. Over the years, we’ve seen a lot of great games set in a galaxy far, far away, but most of them lacked something to be perfect. Or at least to our complete satisfaction. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order may not allow us to go to the dark side. Story Unleashed power again, it doesn’t make much sense in the context of the entire universe. Knights of the Old Republic they don’t let us experience the romance we’re used to with newer games from BioWare.

This could go on indefinitely, which is why we are now bringing you the recipe for the perfect Star Wars game from Indiana, after the publication of which there will undoubtedly be a call from Lucasfilm, in which there will be no enthusiasm. . So let the Force accompany us all.

ROMANCE WITH CHARACTERS – DUPPI

Many games over the years have offered a great story with multiple characters that we could fall in love with. Be it Bastile Shan, Juno Eclipse or even male characters. And if you’re really… picky, then so are droids. I’m looking at you, Lando! In my opinion, a proper Star Wars game should allow you to choose our partner, because it somehow relates to a real heroic story. Or even if we play as a villain.

Excellent role-playing games as well as adventures offer an extensive romance tree where you can make friendships and romances. Unfortunately, this option has never been sufficiently developed in any Star Wars game. To some extent, this makes sense, as it will violate the history and fate of the characters. But if the game was non-canonical from scratch, it might work. I see it completely. After a hard fight with the Sith, I return to my room on Coruscant, where Ahsoka, just out of the shower, is waiting for me, hugging me and …

SKILLS LIGHT AND DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE – CVRNDA

I don’t think we should automatically play Jedi or Sith in the perfect Star Wars game, but if we were to use a lightsaber and the Force, we would definitely want to be able to make the most of it. Not only from the light side, but also from the dark side. The only way is definitely better if the game tells a specific and canonical story, but what could be better than choosing? Or even better, the opportunity to walk the fine line between two views of the Force? Star Wars has always been a fight between good and evil, but I would also like to see a world that isn’t black and white. And it can perfectly reflect the ability of the player.

I don’t want an all-powerful character from The Force Unleashed Starkiller rankings or a red and blue sign like the Knights of the Old Republic. I need skills that reflect my behavior, good or bad. Then the story should adequately reflect something like that, so that there is not one super fun and one super dark ending, but a conclusion that takes into account increasingly important choices. A conclusion that will make my character not a scumbag or a hero, but a believable being with his own strengths and weaknesses, doing great things and great mistakes. After all, we are all different and have different preferences, so Star Wars games could finally allow us to behave in this way and then face the consequences.

CORRECT NEGATIVE – CVRNDA

The world of Star Wars has always been synonymous with interesting villains for me. There is no need to introduce Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine, but over the years Count Dooku, Maul or Kylo Ren have also won us over. Figures like Darth Nihilus from Knights of the Old Republic or Darth Malgus from MMORPG The Old Republic shine in the gaming world. But there are also interesting negatives around which there is no lightsaber. This is proven by Director Krennic, my favorite Grand Admiral Thrawn or Marcion Ro from the era of the High Republic. And so a real new Star Wars game needs to have a real villain. He needs someone who is feared or respected and who, for example, we can understand a little. The destruction of entire planets is difficult to understand, but at least it is out of place to know the path to such evil. But most of all we want someone with whom we clearly want to fight at the very end of the game in a spectacular duel.

JOHN WILLIAMS SOUNDTRACK – CVRNDA

At the mention of Star Wars, many moviegoers immediately have the name John Williams in their heads. The famous composer belonged to a distant galaxy from the very beginning, and I always wanted Williams to compose the music for the game. It is already signed under the central composition of the amusement park. Edge of the Galaxy and the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, so why should a video game be a problem? Unfortunately, nothing like this has ever happened, and I’m afraid it won’t even happen again. But we can’t imagine Star Wars without strong music, so if it weren’t for Williams, Michael Giacchino would definitely be enough. His film score Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Stories gorgeous and pretty close to Williams’ style, and Jakkin’s games are no strangers, as the first part proves Call of Duty since 2003. He’s just the perfect candidate to compose the best Star Wars music.

FOREST ENVIRONMENT OF CENTRAL EUROPE – CVRNDA

I have always regretted that in the world of Star Wars we never directly saw a planet that would evoke associations with the forests of Šumava or the Slovak lands. We have already had desert, tropical, forest, volcanic, urban, snow or water planets and moons. However, forests known to us, as well as clippings from Central Europe, can be found in books and comics with considerable effort and imagination. But that’s not enough for me. In principle, it would be enough to take Chernarus from Army 2 and DayZ and make it the planet for the new Star Wars game. After all, it was the mods for the Arma series that showed that the imperial attack aircraft did not work in any way even in the forests near Usti nad Labem.

LOOKING AT THINGS WITH A LIGHT SWORD – GEL

And speaking of these forests, it would be great to swing at them, with a lightsaber, of course. Probably, we all imagined how, as a child, we hold a lightsaber in our hands and cut and melt everything around us with simple, perhaps even dance movements. A lot of Star Wars titles let us have interactions like this, but mostly in pretty limited places, and I don’t even remember him cutting down a whole tree anywhere. However, one should start only with an inanimate environment. I understand that especially after Amidala, Lei and Rey became de facto Disney princesses, we don’t have a chance to see more gore on the show, but we may not need to. The burn will heal. The important thing is that we can simply cut even humanoid enemies in half. At least we could roast droids regularly.

THE RIGHT SYSTEM OF DYNAMIC COLLISIONS – FIOLA

If personally I’m still looking for something, it’s a dynamic sword fighting system. I admit that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was far ahead with their swords and raised my ranking to Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Unfortunately, the duelist still has one ailment. I didn’t really feel like a Jedi who could wield all types of swords. This is also due to the fact that some attacks block movement in the animation, as was the case with the Jedi Academy. Therefore, I would appreciate the possibility of a dynamic system where I could literally throw a sword at the controller or mouse – create monstrous combos, pirouettes and combine them with Jedi abilities.

Imagine a situation. You throw your sword at an enemy stormtrooper, with a Force Push second in front of you, with a third fist, you bounce off the enemy salt droid, while summoning the thrown lightsaber back into your hands. As you do so, you take a few more droids with you, dropping a boulder off a nearby rock, and shortly before completing your jump, you take your lightsaber and plunge it into the last mechanical enemy. This is currently not possible in games, but I would like to have a system that allows me to do this. Maybe Fallen Order 2?!

STAGE BONUS: A REAL STAR WARS GAME IN VR – ERI

This is definitely not about what I want from another Star Wars game, but rather what other Star Wars game I would like. Yes, I would like to see a lightsaber in my VRK. I know that Vader Immortal was already here, which was not bad in the finale, and the story was a very nice title, but that he took full advantage of the lightsaber duel, unfortunately, this cannot be said at all.

I’m talking about a project like Half-Life: Alyx or something more. Just imagine. You don your goggles, pick up your lightsaber, and head out to meet the horde of droids. It was from Vader Immortal that he could take the elements of throwing a sword or using the Force, but he could be much freer. More frequent and fun sword fights and voila, here is the recipe for a great Star Wars game that every VR headset owner would like to buy.
