Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition is is Free For a limited time (via backward compatibility) definitively on PS4 and PS5 from today, Wednesday, April 27 – May 11, 2022. Also, during the free trial period, all characters from Season 1 to 5 will be unlocked for everyone on both the PlayStation console and the PC version of Steam, for a total of 45 characters, including 16 of the main game.
The announcement came via a Twitter post from the official Street Fighter account. If you’re interested, you can access the PlayStation Store webpage for a free trial of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition at this link.
This is the perfect opportunity to experience first-hand the new V-Shift combat system and balance changes compared to the first version of Street Fighter 5 and 45 different characters. It’s also a great way to skip the wait that has separated us from the release of Street Fighter 6, announced by Capcom in February.
On the subject, Blanka and Sakura recently landed on Epic Games’ Royal Battle of Fortnite island thanks to a new crossover event with Street Fighter.
