Is PlayStation about to revolutionize PC gamers? There is talk of a Play Anywhere variation.

Just one copy may be enough to play on both platforms.

In recent days, there has been an interesting suggestion that Sony may be preparing an analogue of the Xbox Play Anywhere service. In particular, the excitement was caused by the leak of an image of a social network user X with the nickname Amethxst, who was on the PlayStation 5 console presented the PS5/PC and Cross-Buy labels. The recent addition of these symbols was confirmed by a well-known tipster named Billbil-kun after his own analysis, so it should not be a hoax.

Whether this is really the beginning of preparations for the launch of the Cross-Buy feature between the PlayStation 5 and computers is the question at the moment. However, if the current leak is confirmed, this would constitute another important step in PlayStation strategywhich would follow the gradual appearance of individual exclusives on computers.

If Cross-Buy worked the same way as Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere program, players would have to buy only one copy of a specific gamewhich could later be activated on PlayStation 5 and PC.

At the same time, this could mean the arrival PC options from the official PlayStation Store in the form of a separate application that Sony will try to drag players from Steam or the Epic Games Store, eliminate the shares of these stores in copies sold and, following the example of Microsoft, “teach” PC players to buy and play in their own ecosystem.
