For now, the new feature is only available in the beta version of the system, but soon it will be available to all users.
Until now, larger games could be downloaded on the Steam Deck. uncomfortable. Leaving the device on drains the battery quickly, and turning off the screen also interrupts booting. Fortunately, this will soon be a thing of the past. The update will improve the Steam Deck. and adds a low power modewhich allows the device to complete an active boot before going to sleep.
The function is automatically enabled when the device is connected to a power source.but it can be activated at any time in the settings (Settings > Power). In practice, it works simply: when you press the power button during boot, you’ll be asked if you want to continue booting with the display off. Once confirmed, the Steam Deck will enter save mode where the process will run in the background.
There is only one limitation: the function will not turn off if the battery charge is less than 20%. Valve has yet to announce an exact date for the update to exit beta, but it looks like it should happen in the coming weeks.
