Just a few years ago, some players hoped that we would one day see a release that had been in development for many years. spy action called “Agent”. It was officially announced in 2009 during the PlayStation E3 conference and was supposed to be focused exclusively on the PlayStation 3 console. The game was developed by developers Rockstar, who just a year earlier released the fourth part of the Grand Theft Auto series.

However, the development of the game Agent did not go according to plan and after a number of internal delays. its development was quietly canceled. We still have no official information about this project that could reveal Rockstar’s plans at that time. Surprisingly enough, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser talked about the title in a new interview.

He said that the creators of the game are gradually they tried five different concepts at onceon which you can build an Agent. However, according to Houser, none of them completely worked. One of the main reasons was the complex combination of open world and spy action with an emphasis on cinematic storytelling.

Houser admitted that Rockstar wanted keep the setting in the open world at all costswhich didn’t quite fit in with the other features and mechanics of the Agent game. The developers even had to try out different settings from the 70s to the present day. However, ultimately all the concepts ended in unsatisfactory results and the subsequent cancellation of this undoubtedly interesting project.
