Xbox is considering eliminating fees for online multiplayer games

Microsoft is considering eliminating mandatory fees for online multiplayer games for next-generation consoles, leveling the playing field with PC gamers.

For more than twenty years, Xbox owners have paid a monthly fee to play online, mostly through services like Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Core. But now there are signs that Microsoft is considering canceling this “multi-user fee” for the next generation of game consoles.

Cause? Thus, the gaming community of players on consoles and PC will become more united. While user expectations for each slot machine are different, charging for online play on a PC-like device makes absolutely no sense.

However, this is not an official announcement yet. A report from Kotaku says that this decision is in line with Microsoft’s current plan for now, but could still change.

What this means for gamers is that if this does happen with Microsoft’s next console, it’s entirely possible. Xbox will be the first next-gen console to not have paid multiplayer.
