Fans of medieval role-playing games have once again shown that interest in story-based games is still huge. Title campaign on Kickstarter Legacy of Valor reached its first goal in just seven days, which was a huge milestone for the small indie team. The creators thank all the supporters who helped make their dream a reality and remind them that the campaign is far from over.
Massive RPG has already been chosen more than 100 thousand dollars. The game promises a huge medieval world, full of choices, exciting battles and plot decisions that determine the fate of an entire kingdom. And even if, thanks to the achieved goal, the team can begin full-fledged development, other selected resources will allow us to expand the map, deepen the story, or add new game mechanics.
“This is just the beginning” says the press release. “Every new supporter helps us get closer to our next goals and push the boundaries of what we can create together.”
Legacy of Valor also received a lot of attention thanks to recommendation from the Czech studio Warhorsecreators of the popular series Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Warhorse wrote a post about the project on social media, introducing it to its community as a spiritual successor to games rooted in historical verisimilitude and strong stories.
“If you liked Kingdom Come and followed its story, you’ll want to hear about this project.” writes Warhorse. “Legacy of Valor offers an open world, kingdom management, large-scale combat and an emphasis on choice in the story. Like us back then, this team is committed to community and the belief that players want a fair, story-driven role-playing game.”
For the creators of Legacy of Valor this great gratitude. They themselves admit that it was the success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance that inspired them to develop a game that combines a realistic atmosphere, freedom of decision-making and an emphasis on authenticity.
