Perhaps we are talking about selling the brand to another publisher.
Video game designer and producer Glen Schofield still hasn’t given up trying continuation of the Dead Space seriesthe development of which he personally would like to lead. We last wrote about attempts to bring back this brand in December last year, when Schofield and his plan for Dead Space 4 were rejected by EA management.
However, despite this, the said developer did not give up and is now trying his hand at Electronic Arts again. “I have several ideas that I’m ready to implement, and one of them is Dead Space 4,” Schofield stated. “Since EA was just bought out, there is an opportunity right now. I’ve already made a few phone calls.” – he added mysteriously in an interview with IGN magazine.
At the same time, Schofield sees the greatest chance in possible sale of the Dead Space brand into the hands of another publisher or group of investors. Last year’s remake of the first Dead Space reportedly didn’t make enough money, which has at least delayed plans to further exploit the brand.
This is not the first time in connection with changing EA’s ownership structure they’re talking about a chance to sell a certain brand or studio. At the beginning of this month, for example, the uncertain future of BioWare was mentioned in this direction.
