Portable Horn Ally Xboxcreated in collaboration between Asus and Microsoft, are meant to show what the future of Xbox-branded road gaming could look like. But the first reviews indicate that the revolution is not happening yet.
According to most editors It’s a solid gaming device with good performance, but it’s also a high-priced product with unfinished software.. As a result, the collaboration between the two tech giants did not bear the fruit that fans had hoped for. The display panel has a 1920×1080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and VRR support.
Techradar reviewer Matt Hanson summed it up pretty succinctly: “While the Rog Xbox Ally X offers interesting ideas and quality hardware, it suffers from the same problems as cheaper competitors – Windows 11 remains clunky and the device has its limitations.”
Even more critical was Sean Hollister of The Verge, who drew the most exorbitant price. The basic white model costs $599, and the more powerful black version costs even $999. “These are the most expensive Xboxes ever made. Unless you want to be a thousand dollar Microsoft beta tester, I would wait until the situation stabilizes.” wrote.
