Pixel Castle is looking for a new publisher, but so far in vain.
Studio Fantastic pixel castle announced that it had lost its agreement with the parent company NETEASE. The Chinese owner has stopped funding and is currently threatening MMORPG developers with a codename Ghost end. “If we don’t find a publisher soon, we will probably have to close the studio, which will hit the entire team, including management,” says Greg StreetTeam leader with experience at Blizzard or Riot.
“Netease is very helpful and supportive in finding another publisher for our game. However, in the current market there are few contracts for any game, not to mention large-scale MMORPGs,” he describes the street situation.
So the studio decided to change the concept of the game: “We have a simplified version of the game, focused on multiplayer sessions (think a fantasy version of Helldivers or a fun Elden Ring Nightreign). Warframe.”
This is another essentially Western, albeit space studio, which Neteas closed due to financial resources. This was the last thing that happened in the case of T-minus zero led by a Bioware veteran.
