Legend of Steel Empire will also be played on PlayStation.

The exclusivity period on Nintendo Switch ends and the game opens up to a wider audience.

The legendary Steel Empire has a long way to go. Originally published in 1992 on the Sega Genesis from the workshop of the now defunct Hot・B research. It gradually looked at the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 3DS until it received a remaster from Japanese research firm Medius in 2018. It later teamed up with German publisher Games and together produced a new, improved version for the Nintendo Switch – it was so redesigned that it received a new name: The Legend of Steel Empire.

The Switch version has maintained exclusivity until now, but that is no longer the case. The Legend of Steel Empire has been released on PlayStation 4 and 5, so owners of Sony consoles can finally enjoy this honor of the old arcades. The game is available on the PlayStation Store and soon after release boasts a high rating, although so far only from a handful of players – sales seem to be more likely in the hundreds.

There will be chaotic dogfights, a fast striker and a heavy armored Zeppelin airship. The story is reminiscent of an old war film, and the visuals combine elements of steampunk and dieselpunk. This is a throwback to the times when games were simple, but knew how to draw with their style and pure gameplay.
