Fans of the legendary Heroes of Might and Magic series have finally seen it – a demo version of the upcoming game is now available on Steam Heroes of Might and Magic: Old Era. At the same time, the developers from Unfrozen and the publisher Hooded Horse also announced less good news: the release of the full game has been postponed. The return of the famous strategy will have to wait until 2026, the exact date has not yet been determined.
The demo is really rich, offers many hours of play. For the first time, a tutorial has appeared that will help not only newcomers, but also veterans who have returned to the series after years. Players will then be able to try out three game modes:
In the arena, you create your hero and begin to fight increasingly powerful waves of enemies. The classic campaign includes the traditional Heroes of Might and Magic style: exploring the map, collecting raw materials, fighting and managing the city. In contrast, One Hero is a more intimate take on the classic, focusing on one hero.
The demo will feature four of the six planned factions: the humans of the Temple faction, the necropolis, the dark elves of the dungeon, and the ancient creatures known as Schism. The big advantage is that the demo version has no time limit – players can enjoy it as long as they want.
Judging by what we’ve seen so far, Olden Era should be an honest return to the roots of the legendary series. If you like the strategy, just go to Steam and download the demo – judging by the first reactions, it’s definitely worth a try. In addition, it contains Czech subtitles.
Minimum requirements include Windows 10 (64-bit), Intel Core i5-10300 (quad-core) / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (quad-core), 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB) / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (4 GB) / Intel Arc A580 (8 GB) SSD.
