On Thursday April 28, 2022 will come out Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One on PlayStation 4. The Xbox One version was supposed to be released on the same day, but the Ukrainian team is forced to postpone it indefinitely due to the war in the country.
“From September last year to February 2022, we have been hard at work optimizing our games for PC, old and current generation consoles. During this time, we found that the amount of work is more than we expected. That’s why last year we decided to release the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions first | S and work on optimizing older generation versions.” presented by the Frogwares studio.
“Following the October approval of the first chapter to the current generation, we have continued to work on optimizing the PS4 and Xbox One versions. We tried to squeeze as much as possible out of the older generations. A lot of work has been done that is invisible but also visible, such as changes to the city map in the PS4 and Xbox One versions so that the game can run more smoothly (we cut out some lanes, shortcuts, etc.). . And as we got closer and closer to the completion of these versions, there was a war.
“To say that the war has affected us is probably a weak word of the decade. Leaving aside our personal and psychological situation, the war greatly affected our production. From today’s perspective, with the resources and manpower we have, we can release the first chapter on PS4 on April 28th. But we are forced to postpone the Xbox One version.”
If you pre-ordered the Xbox One version of Sherbox Holmes: Chapter One, you are eligible for a full refund. Frogwares also suggests that its decision was made at the expense of potential financial income.
